He still demonstrates impressive lyrical dexterity despite maintaining a cool, calm demeanor. Tracks such as ‘Montreaux,’ ‘Fashionably Late,’ ‘A Gee,’ and ‘Famous’ remain in Curren$y’s pre-established, more laid back, jazzy, and relaxed mold. The beats remain as beautiful, expansive canvasses where Curren$y imaginatively expresses himself. He also has an uncanny ability to recreate old pop culture images in our minds, with bars such as, ‘Jane get rolled up like car windows, avoiding the policeman’s ‘ them Carl Winslow’s' on ‘Michael Knight.’ Most of the album finds Curren$y mixing storytelling techniques with a deeply embedded creative flair.
It is a display of how he remains unconventional and attempts to rearrange the musical medium in which he exists. For example, he says, ‘legendary lay up Jordan’s with the left right switch, hang time, hang-glide, stir fried, chinky eyes, shanghai candy drizzle frame I ride.’ This theme remains constant for Knight Rider rendition ‘Michael Knight,’ especially vivid with it’s live guitar licks and hook where Curren$y recreates the Knight Rider car sound with his voice. He raps with his own stream-of-consciousness style presenting a snapshot narrative and giving an all-encompassing view of his actions from his perspective. The opening track, ‘Airborne Aquarium,’ is the album’s most fast-paced and energetic track.
